I take it by now most of you guys are already heading to to your respective Thanksgiving destinations. Fortunately the Mole will be spared this particular holiday extravaganza as it’s not celebrated over here in Europe (don’t worry, we have a ton of our own). Honestly I never really cared much for Thanksgiving during my time in the States. Obviously it’s the second biggest U.S. holiday season after Christmas and people tend to plan their time off around both, courtesy of stingy employers offering only minimal vacation time.
I remember the very first time I signed an employment contract after I had just received my green card. I couldn’t fathom that I [...]
This is ridiculous – has everyone left already? Yes, I know – it’s Thanksgiving week, but I expected at least a reasonable amount of participation until the EOS today. However what I’m seeing on the UVOL/DVOL panel makes me want to pull down the blinds here at the lair and call it a week:
I really think this chart says it all – this level of participation is minuscule even at holiday week standards. I occasionally bitch at you for not showing up for work while the getting is good, but this is clearly the type of tape you want to ride out without giving it too much attention. So go and stuff your turkey – but be careful about pulling [...]
I’m not going to exacerbate your suffering by reemphasizing what a boring ass session we had to endure today. Early in the morning DarthMole suggested a jump in volatility and by the looks of it I’ll have him report to the Evil Speculator dungeon for a much needed tune up.
Really not much happening there on the daily panels. Many of the futures contracts rolled over last Friday and I’m always a bit cautious taking entries until we’re a few days in. However that said – copper is looking pretty juicy as a long right here and now which is why I just emailed this one out to all the subs. Put your stop below the BB and Bob’s your uncle. [...]
Welcome to our morning briefing. Here we are reviewing short term setups ahead of the NYSE opening bell. If you are a scalper or swing trader then these setups may be of interest to you. As usual keep in mind that these are short term setups although they could be used as early entries for more longer term positions.
Equities have been holding the line over the weekend and we may see a bit of acceleration here as suggested by DarthMole. Just to reemphasize – unlike retail traders volatility measures do not suffer from directional bias. So there is no telling which way it’ll swing. However I don’t see anything on my charts that would prompt me to [...]
