Watch And Weep!

It’s a mid December Friday afternoon (actually evening on my end) and I frankly think I have done enough damage for today. The plethora of kick butt entries I presented in today’s early morning briefing (for free I may add) has quickly turned into a veritable earnings-palooza. Watch and weep:

Bonds – great entry at the diagonal and I’m pretty close to cutting the cord.

Corn at target. For a slow mover she sure was shaking it up today. Thank you and thank you.

Cable – you either took the SMA breach or the NLBL – either way you’d be heavily in the green now. Enjoy your ill gotten gains.

NZD/USD – picture perfect SMA entry this morning and we are at target ladies and leeches.

USD/CHF – what can I say – sometimes it’s better to be lucky then good. We could not foresee such a sweet sell off but we take the profits either way.

Last but not least it was payback time over in the AUD/USD. After giving us some grieve earlier this week it paid us back in spates. That’s what I call finishing a week in style.

May I add that we missed three JPY entries because I posted them as they started to take off? Anyway, here’s my final entry for the day:

Have a nice weekend – I see you all on Sunday.

I wonder how much more $AAPL can fall. I skimmed through what retail has to say. They’re getting nervous, but most still hold or even double down. That’s far from capitulation.

  • AmazingLarry

Took a little nibble on the /ZB, thanks Mole.

    good job.  happy Weekend!

  • newbfxtrader

    Around 430ish.

  • captainboom

If retail is just holding shares, they may not give them up, given the perceived fundamental strength of the company.  Personally, I think AAPL will see 470 before it sees much of a rebound.

  • Joe_Jones

466 is the 100 sma on the weekly and 25 sma on the monthly. P&F has a bearish PO of 445.

Everywhere i see, the lamestream media is telling everyone to buckle up for the fiscal dive as though it’s a certainty. Definite give away that a huge reversal is brewing. Just need a lower low in the daily. BWDAFQDIK?

  • Joe_Jones

    OMG, what a tragedy!

  • Joe_Jones

Jeez. The title of this post is really to the point, as if Mole had a premonition. Watch and weep.

  • http://dartht.blogspot.com/ Zen_Gerb

yep.  and you wonder why a leech would hang so long?
    I’m telling ya man, it’s a gift.

now, ES has been hanging around 1410 to 1418 for two weeks.  it’s a circus IMHO.

I home schooled my daughter until she was in 5th grade.  Not for any high moral purpose, but because I love her.  She’s now 15, a sharp kid, with a good head on her shoulders, but tough to defend against anything like this.  A school is the one place a nut case knows that no one will be armed.  Sigh.

  • http://evilspeculator.com molecool

    I am to please :-)

  • MrMargin

Yes, those might be good targets. Everybody seems to be looking at 500 right now, so a break might trigger the required panic.

  • Joe_Jones

what is mind boggling is how come you have been a leech for so  long?

  • AMCabrera

oh course I wake up today at 11am this morning. Have a good weekend kaiser.

  • AMCabrera

the entry in the aud/jpy (short) at 88 does not look bad and my two aud and nzd shorts should really rocket next week.

  • itcomesupinwaves

Look at the OB for NZD..  They keep moving their bids up but no one is selling.  Megaphone on the 5min and previous high of 0.8470.

  • newbfxtrader

    Yep dudes consistent.

    Anybody short Silver?
I took some ZSL for a daytrade, but thinking of keeping it. Silver does not acting friendly to bulls.

  • MrMargin

Fundamentals are somewhat dicey in my opionion, although retail would probably disagree. First of all, margin compressions is setting in and secondly, the AAPL fad appears to be at an end. IMO AAPL’s success was based on to factors: innovation and execution. The iPhone was a paradigm shifting product. It was innovation coupled with perfect execution. Then came the iPad which wasn’t really a new idea as MSFT had tried tablets a decade earlier. MSFT failed where AAPL succeeded and I think that was based on the latter’s ability to execute. The first iPad came out in 2010 and since then we’ve mainly seen iteration but no real innovation on AAPL’s part. Now the competition hasn’t only started to close that innovation gap, but overtook AAPL on several fronts like bigger high resolution displays offered at cheaper prices.

Bottom line, AAPL will have a hard time justifying their prices and maintaining their previous level of growth and high margins which will make their fundamentals much less attractively looking.

  • newbfxtrader

    So no video today?

  • Microwave_Prince

Probably a good idea. Oil doesn’t like silver either.

  • bdoone

Bulls better get back 50/100d SPX or Xmas cancelled.
VIX buy signal oh so close, BB’s compressing.

  • captainboom

Looking like SPX may close below a daily NLSL at 1415.64.

  • AmazingLarry

JP Morgue says it’s stock to avoid in 2013 is FSLR. Buy that shiznit with both hands!

And yea, the daily BB on the VIX/VXO says “decide!”

  • Microwave_Prince

DJIA and AAPL have been under a monthly NLSL for a while now. GC is also sitting right on a monthly NLSL.

look at TAN. This is the best rally this industry had in months (if not years).
I am all over it, just waiting to see some kind of reaction

  • BobbyLow

It’s tough to go against the grain at least it has been for me.

OTOH, Longs on EUR/JPY and EUR/AUD have been doing well and I’ll hold on to them. My Long on EUR/USD has also done pretty good looks to be running into resistance and will be gone by EOD.   Long on USD/JPY is OK and will hold.  I will also hold onto Short on AUD/CHF.

All and all, it’s been a good day and I have no complaints.   :)

  • Microwave_Prince

MMs only making it worse for themselves keeping the market up here while the shorts pile in.

     Edit:
there was a rally just as big (in %) in the beginning of this year. Didn’t end well.
Here is a picture of “Valley of Death”. Volume profile is improving

  • http://ibergamot.blogspot.com/ i Bergamot

    Not a good close.
Fancy a crash on Monday? Meh, these markets don’t crash – they just slowly dying illiquid death.
    Have a great weekend

  • BobbyLow

FWIW, I forgot to say that of course I went net short Oil at the EOD yesterday.  The dollar shitting itself hurt that play.  If this thing can get into the 87′s and stay there for more than a minute, I’ll consider being long oil again.

  • AmazingLarry

There’s your lower daily low on AAPL by a few tics. Gap to $550 on Monday. Bears blew it. :D

  • captainboom

Might get a panic gap down Monday morning.  I still want to see my 470.

  • BobbyLow

“I’m sold, currencies is where it’s at.”

Absolutely, positively and conclusively.  But keep in mind that just like anything else there is a learning curve as to how you want to trade currency.

I’ve done a lot of experimenting over the last three months and what was most difficult for me was finding the right size and type of longevity of trades that I want to do.  I “believe” that I’m finally there now.

Compared to Futures, experimenting with small size in currency pairs have relatively small risk so you might want to give it a try.

  • Ivan

Thanks for the honourable mention … this was my vision/plan since my 30′s back in the 1980′s just after I discovered the potential and the simple basic requirements of trading.

  • http://dartht.blogspot.com/ Zen_Gerb

    Good Morning Ivan,
is Friday worth rolling out of bed?

Yeah it all depends on one’s trading style.  Buy the strongest and sell the weakest is a good rule of thumb.  Also, the trend is your friend..  Until it bends!

  • AMCabrera

The eur/usd, aud/usd, nzd/usd, aud/jpy,and well almost every single major are showing extreme readings. In the past these things should have resolved by now. Orders books across the board are showing extreme unbalance. We shall see until next week I continue holding my two nzd/usd shorts and aud/jpy short

  • Microwave_Prince

That’s why I like oil… for a long, boring trade. Gold will be like that some day, but not yet.

  • http://www.mylifemytrade.com/ MyLifeMyTrade

You really think that few cents lower low on a 500 dollar stock is a bull stop run. Think about this – if you went long AAPL on Nov 16th (LOD then was 505.75), would your stop be 15c below?

  • http://www.mylifemytrade.com/ MyLifeMyTrade

Not that it matters, but today was the deadline for a “fiscal cliff” deal. Technically it’s the 21st, but need at least a week to get it through house & senate after deal reached.
