Going Quiet

Quite frankly – I’m not feeling it here lately. The comment count has gone through the shitter and the quality of comments right with it. Yesterday night I asked you guys for long candidates so we can ride that Minor wave 3 rocket all the way up. I just scanned the few comments since last night and see nothing – zilch – nada – nichts.

Rats – I have been working day & night lately and am worn out. When I ask you guys to participate I expect at least some minimal effort. And frankly, it’s been like pulling teeth lately – I keep producing like a machine – post after post after post – and I get fairly little in return, except for the same questions over and over again. The comment count is going down – not sure why. And it’s not the market as I see plenty of bears participating over at the Slope – T.K. can hardly keep up with his crew. Man, I wish I had a blog like that!

So, I’m going to go into quiet mode for a while – how long I don’t know – maybe an hour, a day, a week, or a month. It seems that my time here is neither appreciated nor rewarded.

That’s where I’ll be with my lappy – working on evil.rat and sipping on Margaritas. And please spare my any postings along the lines of ‘how much appreciate the blog – blah blah’ and ‘how you’ve only been so quiet because of [fill in paltry excuse of your choice]‘. What are you guys – rats or mouth breathing leeches? Because there’s only a place for rats here – and they pull together and collaborate. I’ll be back when I see quality return to this blog.

Later.

One of the major differences between you and TK is that TK produces his blog for himself, and the commentators kind of just ride his coattails. He doesn’t really even care if they post. He certainly didn’t have anywhere near the comments that you have when he started his blog.

Before I say this, let me preface this by saying that I read your blog daily, and your insights are invaluable. Still, you, on the other hand, throw constant hissy fits whenever your commentators don’t contribute enough. Maybe the focus should be on you and your output, and not the responses or lack thereof you get. Then maybe you’ll get TK’s responses. Kind of like women – you only get them when you no longer care.

Hope this helps man. Enjoy your vacation.

Not sharing to us leeches, selling it to your beloved rats.

  • Bob

Would you rather have people posting a bunch of their buy/short rec’s every minute? That’s just noise to me. I come here to read stuff written by you. Ok, I skim through some of the comments too but that’s not why I bookmarked your site.

  • hindawg

Dude, PMS ing again. You build a community and product based on ESM and you ask for long candidates? I think the rats are trading futures now and btw several here posted some killer analysis a couple days ago and got a whole post slamming their “faux EWT” We were right for 50 points. You can’t shut everyone up and then a day later ask for longs.
Peace man- take a break though.

  • poopsquad

Mole – a few comments. I won’t go crazy with the kissing your ass. I think lack of participation is in part due to Zero/Zero Lite. those leeches who won’t pay are gone, and Zero lite has been performing so well people are glued to it rather than doing analysis. Also, you haven’t exactly been open to conflicting ideas. You have repeated complained when others post alternative EW counts and haven’t seemed too receptive to other alternative ideas also( for example I tried several times a while back to discourage Yen longs as its ES correlation was breaking). You also often post about how dumb everyone is who doesn’t directly follow your advice (“I warned you Rats to stay out!) This makes people more hesitant to post other than to chime with nonsense. Your ideas and blog are great on their own, and many others don’t have much to contribute. You are selling the zero and your trading service, so this blog is a business, not just a hobby. Decide how you want it.

  • Bob

Don’t you get a little money from Google ads? Just a few people actually clicking on the ads would pay for your site already.

  • http://evilspeculator.com molecool

“for example I tried several times a while back to discourage Yen longs as its ES correlation was breaking”

Yeah, and I wound up being right – LOL. When exactly did I discourage a different wave count? I was mainly discouraging wave counts by a certain individual which were FAUX because they very obviously violated the rules as defined by Ralph N. Elliott.

and when bull blogs have infinite comments then we are at the top……….

All poor bears say………..I am making bleeding losses, due to my stupidity……

For those of you who trade cheap crap stocks, here are a few symbols that are short squeeze candidates that are at the low end of their charts. I expect at least 5 of these to double in price and possibly triple during this next run. I also expect 90% of these to eventually get flushed down the toilet so be careful. As soon as this run is done, I will dump these and move on. These may also run on mark to market hearing and other possible interventions. Good luck.

Mole, you would have to guarantee my losses to go long this POS. There is a very large Treasury auction settling Thursday and the market should tank on the weight of that alone – I expect to see 750-760 by Friday.

As far as longs, yeah if we hold 750 I'll go long the Triple ETFs, TF and ES – screw individual stocks…

Molecool made a comment in the last post that I think bears repeating: Trade like a machine – the less emotions are involved the better. Which is also why I discourage my rats from celebrating winners too much. Take losses and winners in stride and you'll be okay. It's a bit like a Zen riddle – the less you care about making/losing money the better you'll do. Whatever you do – do not trade money you depend on for your livelihood – that quickly backfires.

Mole, this was sound advice for trading. I think you should apply that same principle to your blog as well. Take out the emotions, and don't piss on the people that come to your party. I still think you need someone like a Berkshire to keep you in balance with this gig, or you will burnout before long.

Hey, if mole wants to stop contributing – and I don't want him to, as his posts are helpful – or if he wants to get constantly bent out of shape based on the number and type of responses his posts generate, that's his business.

I offered some advice that would give him peace of mind. To focus on do the amount of work on this site that he's comfortable with, and let everything else either happen or not.

I come here and read your posts daily. So what if commentators didn't post about their long candidates? Maybe there aren't any good long candidates?

There are several trader blogs out there to follow. Many of them post just for the sake of posting … not for the sake of selling services and becoming popular. Some post just for the sake of publishing good intelligent information for the readers' benefit.

By the way, referring to all of us as rats and leeches doesn't help either. As if all of us want to feed off and suck on you. Don't flatter yourself.

    Have a great vacation though.

I know nothing about you but you write like you're a 20 something year old kid fresh out of university. You constantly put down your readers, are not open to opposing opinions, and then you go crying when the comment section dries right up. Seems like Berk kept you on a leash back in the day; but since he left you've run the site with the emotional control of a 2 year old kid.

From Lee Adler Wall St Examiner – why we dump later this week if not this afternoon…
This stuff has been deadly accurate.

It was bad enough having to cope with $80 billion in Treasury settlements on Tuesday, but then the
Treasury dropped another bomb, announcing that it would do 3 CMBs this week. The net result was
that instead of relatively light supply that would have taken some of the pressure offer after Tuesday,
the market will face massive new supply settling Thursday and Friday. The fact that the Fed
announced that it will be doing more direct Treasury purchases this week isn’t helping the stock
market, and it didn’t give the Treasuries much of a boost either.
The market looked forward to a day of heavy Treasury settlements on Tuesday with a total bill of $80
billion coming due. Knowing that, I pointed out last week that it was a relatively safe bet that the
market would be down on Friday, and probably Monday as well. Even though the Fed stepped up and
bought another $7.5 billion in Treasuries Friday and $2.5 billion today as part of its $300 billion binge
over the next 6 months, it was just a drop in the bucket relative to what the Treasury will be sucking in
on Tuesday, and then again on Thursday and Friday. The total new paper settling this week is $159
billion. That’s heaviest week ever, worse than any of the weeks in the crush of last October and
November. The market simply cannot absorb all that paper without liquidating something, or
    everything else

  • Dr Thunder

I've recently discovered your site and must your charts and updates are fantastic. You're providing the kind of info I wish those more famous Elliotticians would, i.e. regular updates and charts as things develop, not just every other day after market close when it's really too late to do anything about it except in the rarest of circumstances. I wouldn't mistake a lack of comments as a lack of interest. All of us are affected by the collective mood and waves, whether or not we being sucked in or able to stand aside and make smarter trades than the masses. Everybody is exhausted right now.

  • poopsquad

Really ? I made that post on February 18th making the case Yen and stocks would drop at the same time….. FXY was trading 107-108 at the time with the S+P 780-790. Over the next 2 weeks S+P dropped 15% with the Yen getting smashed another 7%. And this is your response now – mock me and say you were right ?

And I dont know the EW issue well enough. Just saw you post several times to stop ignoring your count and trying to create fake ones….If someone in particular was the issue, thats a different issue, I understand..

  • Vendrell

I suspect a lot of us aren't commenting because the market has been pretty brutal lately. Like you said earlier, most of the action happens overnight or in last hour jam-jobs. Since this site tends to attract trend traders (SOH tends to get more day-traders), there's not that much to post about during the day when we're just stuck in the endless chop.

Still holding short from 818 on Friday when my sell signal was confirmed.

I trade e-mini futures/options only. My “long call” for minor wave 3 is to load up on May SPX calls.

Busy morning for me – sorry I couldn't add comments earlier – grabbed some UNG just off the new all-time low $14.74 and watched it slide right past 15 so far. Re-loaded on PAL at 1.38 and it's got a nice cup-and-handle going now. LVLT squeeze action looking compelling again on the long side. NTDOY attractive at these prices but Yen exposure cuts both ways. RHT breakout looks like it's going to stick and could make a nice squeeze play in the future. TBT at a very attractive price if you haven't entered that trade (basically bet that 30-year yields will rise on US treasuries)

    Hello Molecool

Can i suggest you take a back seat for a while and concentrate on your subscribes of your Zero, as they are the ones that matter, i am not sure what percentage of posters are part of the blog but as there are paying customers they should be your 1st priority

Dude, this is coming from someone how has seen and been where you are, i can tell you it’s pressure, i have seen this before, i used to be a moderator @ TTC (trading the charts.com).

The owner tragically died and one was one of the best technician`s I ever got the privilege to work with, ask around anyone that has been in this game will know of Dominick Mazza, at times he would flip like you have done and it really came down pressure as he use to run the business and run a chat room and posts charts.

His work was that good it made EWI charts look like kindergarten

Sadly the pressure got to him and he died of a heart attack at the age of 47 he used to live the game and i mean live the game, he would sleep for 4- 6 hrs then get up watching globex and posting charts for his subscribers, he would get up at 5am to get things ready for his subscribers the guy was a work a-holic ne never had a proper holiday in the 3 years i can recall since he opened his subscription service

Seriously for your own health i strongly suggest a holiday or some down time.
Whilst i don’t know you, what i have seen is quality work and a real passion for excellence, believe me i have seen a lot of technicians in my time, your work is good quality. Real pro`s full time traders

Your health is and should be your 1st priority, so many have suffered due to this game, i myself took a back seat for moderating simply as you become to involved in other things and you seldom concentrate of your own trading YES your own trading what tend to happen is you give “OUT but get nothing in return, sound familiar???? Oh and you seldom have a life, never seem to have a holiday

Let this game take over your life i mean trading Globex 14-16 hrs a day and eventually it adds up, really it’s not worth it, don’t let this game ruin your health this game will kill ya

I really hope you can keep it together and don’t burn out, it would be a shame to see talent wasted from a burn out

When Kohler went subscription, that sounded the death knell for his blog. That normally happens whenever any sort of subscription service is introduced. You're looking at a second service on top of your Zero/Zero Lite. At this point you have more of an obligation to your subscribers than to a free forum. I'd focus on keeping those folks happy regardless if they provide any sort of information. When money's involved, the game changes.

    Seriously Mole,

You know we are in the shitter economically. At this stage rather than individual longs, I would rather play the index futures long. Individual names are too risky from news risk perspective that some stupid announcement out of nowhere after hours might end up trashing your position overnight.

sorry for the 3 responses from me :D i don't know how to read shortsqueeze.com but gladly I'll do… just took notice of that site from you… nice nice ! I actually have one in my portfolio (longs only) that i got but i saw it on the news that a lot of shorts were on it…. SNS, it rode almost 300% so probably is of no use as of now…

The parameters from shortsqueeze.com what sohuld i look for ?

Oil and gas law. He does a lot of title opinions, mineral leases, royalty disputes, etc… He basically does all of the legal work for oil companies who want to drill for oil in LA and TX. It's a pretty good gig because he rarely has to sue people or go to court.. his job is basically to make sure that everything runs smoothly (the oil companies get to drill and the people that own the land get paid)

I'm not a regular commentator here but I think you deserve some respect and your blogs should be more appreciated (even the ones bragging about your indicator)..
I'm looking at Drys for a potential long.. Yesterday I took FAS long at 4.88 and took half off in pre-market at 5.31, and I'm riding the other half with a stop right below my entry and a potential target when the SPY hits that 20/50 necktie on the 60min.

Other potential longs: DRE (not the rapper), FXE calls (got some ITM already)
    C (daily looks very interesting)

No comments because I am sitting out of this market until this counter-trend rally is over. I don't like to go against the main trend which is down. Even if I was going to play the long side I wouldn't play individual stocks but rather stick with the indexes. Too much risk of a suprise announcement wiping you out with the inidividual plays.

    Mole:

People have made a lot of money by giving things away free (MSFT in the early days, GOOG now). People have made a lot of money by making something very exclusive as well; Bernie Madoff comes to mind.. he he :-)

If you’d like all your readers to contribute with ideas, you need to make the blog an exclusive, invitation-only-kinda-thing. I think xtrends originally had that format; another big-timer on Slope does the same thing (he limits it to 12 participants). You’ll take a hit on the ad-revenue & click-throughs.

A hybrid solution would be to ask those with time & intelligence to contribute in kind, and all others to click some ads.

    Just my .02

And, btw, GMCR is a good short squeeze. I posted about it last week, and have been buying calls.

This post is for any West Coast rats.

I recently moved out to Los Angeles full-time (used to trade in Central and Eastern time zones for the past 2 years). How do people deal with the 6:30 AM wake-up? Being done at 1 pm is obviously very nice, but I'm noticing my body physically feeling worse over the last week. Going to sleep before midnight is unacceptable to me now, and splitting my sleep schedule leaves me vaguely disoriented for the rest of the evening.

Any tips to trading Pacific time zone hours?

    A word of encouragement?

For those who are successful and consistently protect their capital and make money, how did you recover from blowing out a serious portion of your account (for the second time)? I didn’t follow the rules, averaged down on a losing trade more than once, didn’t have a stop, kept thinking it was coming back, and turned a day trade into position trade. I was seriously bearish at the beginning of this rally. Anyway, I’m a bit shell shocked and I hear other traders who have made similar mistakes continue on to become good traders. Any words of experience/encouragement would be much appreciated.

Mole – here are some tickers that I like

3x ETFs for the rocket ride up – TNA, ERX, I am not so sure about FAS
Commodities – ANR, CLF, X, DRYS, MEE, BUCY
    Solar – STP, SPWRA, FSLR
    Infrastructure, FLR, JOYG
Ag – they did not participate in the downside.. so their upside is limited at this point – I will stay away from POT, CF. I might try MOS
Tech – RIMM (could get to $60), I will stay away from AAPL

My father picked up another 500 FAS yesterday. Just been picking up more and more on the dips, have it protected with FAZ just in case. Simple for anyone not wanting to trade options and keep it simple. You can also hedge FAS with puts, which is better then using the FAZ as it takes up less capital.

FYI, e-Trade uses MF (formerly MAN Financial) – they don’t actually have their own futures operation. That may affect the regulatory issue you’re dealing with and I’m not a big fan of Man.

Check w/Schwab – I think they have their own operation – for sure they’re @CBOE, so it makes sense that they’d be doing something @CME and others.

Merrill & BAC have global futures operations but I suspect the commissions for a retail trader will be higher than you are used to. Worth checking into though.

Not a morning person, but you're complaining about 6 am pacific time? Try trading globex morning pacific time – now that will wear you out over time. I do get worn out by the end of the week though, but I don't think 6 am is that much of a sacrifice, compared to to some people who start at 4 or so. One thing you could is have something like a smoothie in the morning to get going. That helps a lot. Also, a short nap after 1 is sometimes a good idea.

I’m seriously considering that. Just came back from a little break and am deeply disappointed by all the snarky comments.

    Very disappointing.

You might be right about the death of tri-party repos. Let's look at FTEK w/ a short interest of 22%. They make carbon scrubbers for things like CO2 belching power plants. News on a draft bill to reduce CO2 by 20% by 2020 should have shot FTEK up. Maybe test $12 which it can't break for the last four months. Today the NYSE is 3:1 pos, good industry news, decent short interest = NOTHING. It's just trading along w/ the Naz. If this was 2007 the whole alt-energy group would be hot today.

I think the liquidity pump driven by tri-party repos is broken. The lack of intraday continuation has been very frustrating.

Solars are getting hot now, but not FTEK. Interesting…

I’m with you there. . . Many moons ago I told myself not to trade the first 30 minutes and that actually worked quite well for awhile. Broke that rule several times like falling off the wagon . . . Sometimes just need to slow down.

The thing that pisses me off today is that I actually didn’t see the zero signal and it didn’t hit any of the other stops (real or mental) for me to unload my long positions this morning. I acted on a hunch (along with a lot of others) that I am ending up paying for. It happens, you live and learn and hope you don’t make the same mistake again.

    Hello, LadyBaron,

I'm pretty sure that whoever is trading longer than one year would have experienced a mind-blowing disaster one time or another (as the statistics show that 80% of the retail traders would be wiped out within one year). Making money in taking direction is very difficult and a lot of retail trader will fail.

When I lost more than half of my account, that's when I decided to put more time and effort in education. There are so many free resources out there and you can learn to take the trade without risking too much. Taking a directional trade would give you a quick reward, but you would also suffer a significant loss if it goes against you.

I have discussed some of my low risk, delta neutral option strategies in the past, and I highly encourage you to learn how to take a low risk, income producing strategy.

Swing trade is another favoite of mine, where I dedicate a very small portion of my portfolio to take direction (1~5% at a time) so that if I pick the wrong direction, it won't hurt me.

Good luck on your future trades.

  • JM777

Hi there Mole. I can understand your frustration. However, a while ago, a trader asked a money management question, and I offered my view on the issue. Your response was to dismiss my strategy and suggestion with a one-liner and a “sigh”. So, no more contributions from me. Best regards.

Disqus is broken recently – at least on this blog. I can't even vote on comments anymore or block people. Already complained to disqus but they don't respond.

    Dear Mole:

My idear, Martha Stewart Omnimedia (MSO) if you are not short this P.O.S. you should be. She has a crappy magazine, lame TV show and sells to Kmart. I don't have access to the short numbers but it should be about 95%. Have at it, make a mint. I will take my chances on SPY Options, the least rigged game in the whole damned crooked Casino.

Best advice If your going to leave if the position is not profitable when your leaving drop it, if it is profitable set a profit target order and a stop order.

If we continue to rally for the next hour, im seeing a reversal zone around 3.30-3.45pm with a ideal short entry around 80.78-80.82 on spy

  • BalaB

    Hey Fujisan…

Do you make most of your income though your calendar spreads?

  • molecool

Well, the trick lies in knowing when not to trade. I constantly talk about that and have admittedly missed a good move here and there. But it's important for me to by in sync with the market and when I see a lot of divergences I simply don't trade.

    Hope this helps a little.

I'm very happy with my subscribers and they are paying me to provide the service that is being offered. The blog however is another thing. If you guys keep being jackasses then I won't be inspired to produce the quality of content I have been offering for free for months now. It's a two way street, pal.

BTW, you earn the right to insult me once you provide something of substance. Until then keep your trap shut.

GSCO is on GILD, but it “looks like” UBS is the buyer there. No GSCO on ABT, MDT or BAX currently from what I can see. They can all hide size however.

S&P, I would be careful right here I see a slow turn I anticipated all morning, I was way too early.

  • vietspeed

I am jumping in FAZ now at $21, everyone is expecting a rally for end of the quarter, a sell off on M2M news, so a sell off now would be nice

  • katzo7

Yeah That is what I see, really set up for a fall , was too early this morning as some things had to be worked out on 60 min. charts.

  • Ed

I think we traded on what we wanted to see rather than what we actually did see. I definitely made that mistake today as I got a little eager there. . .

  • thunda72

Me too… I even posted yesterday that I was going to stay on the sidelines today and watch things develop. But I'm like a crack fiend in the morning itching to get in the action. That's probably my greatest problem. I can't sit, watch and wait. So I got in short during 'amateur hour' and am paying the price. Gotta work on my trading discipline!!!!

  • Eric

    Hey Mole,
Got to say sorry for not participating more. I am more of a lurker. I check your comments everyday and use your charts. Sorry for not lettingyou know more often that I appreciate your site and everything your doing. I will try to stay more in the loop. I just opened a account and waiting for the funds to clear but have been trading in paper for a few months now.
Basically looking to find tradable trends in the SPY and trade the option of the call or put depending on the situation. In out 30-40 min tops. So far I am seeing 10-15% returns each day I trade. I only trade 2 days or less a week though because I am waiting for the best setups. Only Spy, only when the pitch is down the middle. Let me know when you come out of quiet mode to tell me what the benifits or hazards of this style of trading.

    Thanks
    Eric

Ten years, Jesus Christ man. What is that about? Have you had no success in those ten years? You need to work on the skill of how to reward yourself. I worked 8 straight years in retail without a vacation and enjoyed all of them. But guess what, I started really becoming successful when I started taking off. That is success, when you aren't required. I am beginning to doubt that your are really married, because I know very few women who would deal well with that. She must be something. Do it for her and you. Those of us who appreciate your art want you to be successful–fuck the rest!

you identify probably the most common problem for all traders—plain and simple ” pain avoidance”.

one has to get to a place where they can sell/cover when the trade has gone against them—when the stop is reached—when the close of the candle duration that you committed to has closed above/below your stop.

easier said than done, in this market environment, when / if you held overnite, your stop got violated by an opening gap by 10% or something as ridiculous

IMO these markets are for either the day trader, or very long term trader—swing traders are getting killed

    hey guys,

Another unsually busy day, but I posted another trading video on my midday update @ http://www.inthepinktrading.com

Check it out if you get a chance… A breach above 809 would signal that perhaps 775 WAS the pullback we were looking for.

  • BalaB

ahem! Zero Signal meets RL Level = Scalp (Profit)

Now the Win% is equal to 91%

  • Squidman

Man, that's a high flyer but I see your point. Target around 66?

  • standard_and_poor

Love it when you talk options, keep informing us.

  • Fujisan

You should be able to read the open interests and guestimate the movement of the underlying stock.

For instance, I picked up 81 SPY MarQ calendar 5 days ago, and the reason that I picked this strike price is because of the open interests. 5 days later 1.5 hours to go before Q-end OPX, where is it now? 80.69. I personally believe that MM already pre-determine the OPX price and if you know how to read the open interests, you can be spot on.

  • TomOfTheNorth
  • Douala

    I gave you a +1 for that comment…. That was too funny…

  • Otis JF

    Mole,
Quit whining. You have more audience that most of us could ever hope for. Secondly, what is your motivation for doing this blog? If you did so a bunch of people can bow down and worship you, get in line with all of the other self-serving, mouth-breathing, egotitical brats out here in the blogosphere. If you are doing this to prove to yourself that you can, and to give other the OPPORTUNITY to enlighten themselves, rock on.
    So, you want long ideas:
AA – I can see 10 out of this before earnings reveal that they didn't quite cut enough
ABFS – The diagonal resistance isn't until 22.50
AKAM – a little more pullback to the 30DMA and another nice bounce
AMZN – The thing just won't stop!
AN – Just passed through a decent resistance, and its in a strong industry right now.
ARO – I am not a fan of retail right now, but the market could care less what I think. They like this guy.
AZO – Another “Energizer Bunny” stock.
BKE – Needs a pullback, but ready to run further
BVN – on a nice, quiet, controlled run up
CCI – Not just an indicator
CERN – Looks like it is going to pop again and challenge previous highs.
CF – In its little bidding war with AGU could be promising
CME – A hometown fav for me, but it looks like more people have been trading, more money for CME
CMG – Just broke previous resistance
COCO – If it can break 21.50 this week, It should be good for a few bucks
CPRT – a good candidate to ride on the car parts coattails – Ironically a “Motley Fool” buy at around 40.
CREE – Doing nicely, looks like it has some more in it.
CSIQ – Another one looking to challenge a past high here shortly.
CTSH – Next major resistance at 27 – currently at 21.20
DO – Been pounding out a nice bottom for the past couple of months, if bulls think economy is turning, this will do well.
DRQ – Someone has to supply DO with stuff…
FCX – Has a nice 4 month uptrend. I can see metal demands increasing and taking this stock with it.
GMCR – This has some more run in it
IBM – If you are into slow moving blue chips

That is looking through my a-i list. Most of the rest of them still seem like bear plays.
So, have a tissue, dab your eyes and then show the rest of us how its done.

Also, I don't usually post becuase I usually don't have anything constructive to add to the coversation.

  • Squidman

Okay, I'm now going all cash in TOS so I can daytrade this puppy. Great work BB!

“If you did so a bunch of people can bow down and worship you, get in line with all of the other self-serving, mouth-breathing, egotitical brats out here in the blogosphere.”

    Thanks for the symbols though.

  • MyLifeMyTrade

Please consider this a friendly advise from someone who has learnt this the hard way: Gap fills don't mean much on leveraged and inverse ETFs.. If you want to trade FAZ, FAS… track the gaps on XLF or IYF – that is what the world watches.. Trust me on this.. I have lost 5 figures looking at the inverse/leveraged ETF charts and making trading decisions.

  • MyLifeMyTrade

Oil was down because dollar was strenghtening.. look at EUR/USD chart … it is going back up.. thats why oil is going back up.

U may also want to look into optionmonster/trademonster or whatever it is called. Seem to be developing a sharp looking web-based platform

  • LadyBaron

Thanks Sqidman. Base hits are the ticket. Will paper trade for a bit and then trade small. I'm with you . . . I will not give up and I will follow the rules for risk management.

  • LadyBaron

Thanks Fujisan, I've been trading 18 months and have done reasonably well with option strategies, primarily credit spreads. I didn't adjust when I should have and had a huge hit this month. I do have more learning on option strategies to do. I am looking for low risk, income producing strategy. That's why I trade, for cash flow.

  • LadyBaron

Thanks Mole, clearly I missed the 'when not to trade' this month and the strategy I was using is not good for this kind of volatility. Thanks for the blog. I will be hanging around and continuing to learn. I have learned some Elliott basics and some other TA basics. Will be paper trading to get my sea legs back after this rough ride.

Nothing but company policy is I have to use from these 5 shitty brokers and have to do preclearance for every trade. Mandatory holding period is 60 days fucking sucks

  • Fujisan

    Hi, S&P,

Aren't you still on the road? What are you doing during the market hours?

  • Fujisan

I hardly trade credit spread, exactly for the reason that you mentiond. You try to earn 5~10% every month, and one big loss would wipe out one year's worth of income and more, but I know that a lot of people loves credit spreads.

Many of my trader friends signed up for a coaching program at Optionetics. There is one instructor who specializes credit spread and iron condor, and he would hold your hands and go through the adjustments step by step if you are interested.
