Slope of Praise

In case you haven’t heard – Tim Knight gave EvilSpeculator a raving endorsement in his latest video update and I feel the need to respond.

I’m not sure if I ever really spelled this out and now might be a good opportunity to put this on the public record: Tim has been a fervent supporter of our cause right from day one –  which isn’t that long ago – let’s keep in mind that I started this blog in early August. Not in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I would see hundreds of comments a day just half a year later. Some blogs actually take years to get to that point and many bloggers wind up posting excellent material for months on end which never catches any eyeballs and eventually disappears in an ocean of noise.

Let’s set the record straight: The only reason why this blog is where it is today is because Tim was gracious enough to let me spam this URL on his site. And this allowed EvilSpeculator to gather a small group of early adopters who became regulars and kept the ball rolling. But it didn’t stop there – Tim actually started to send people our way and began mentioning our work in his own updates. I ask you this – do you know a successful blogger who does that? I only know one.

Some of you know the reason why I started this digital dungeon of doom in the first place. Reason was because people on another blog, which shall remain nameless (no, not the slope), started complaining about my now famous ‘drop to the abyss’ posts. That was sometime back in June/July when I told anyone who wanted to listen that the Dow would trade below 10,000 by the end of the summer. This irked a lot of the mouth breathers (no, not the author of the blog – he was cool with it), and eventually Berk and I were told to take our charts somewhere else. Well, that’s exactly what we did and that’s when I built this blog in one weekend (it helps to have been a coder for 15 years) and started posting – every day since then.

Tim on the other hand was supportive from day one, and although I never met him in person, I knew right from the start that we were on the same wavelength. I look at his charts and don’t even need to see an explanation – what he does it’s crystal clear to me. His book ‘Chart Your Way To Profits‘ is part of my core library and through his work Tim has taught me everything I need to know about charting. IMNSHO there is no better body of work on the subject matter.

Tim: Thank you for all your support and good will you have shown towards EvilSpeculator. We consider you a ‘sister blog’ and do not feel that there is any competition between us. I actually believe that we have developed a great amount of synergy as it seems that you are covering an aspect of the daily tape that I might not focus on and the reverse.

I hope that this site has actually become a personal reward to you – as your own work has benefited and inspired thousands of traders out there – I am just one of many. If my posts can brighten your trading days then I have come a lot further than I would ever hoped I would get.

REKOGNIZE!! 🙂
