Thanks A Lot Kim Jong Un!

by The MoleSeptember 5, 2017

We all appreciate Kim Jong Un for his megalomaniacal disposition, his sporadic bouts of military brinksmanship, and especially his unique talent for randomly causing widespread fear and panic all across East Asia. What’s not to like? He’s big, he’s bad, and he’s got nuclear missiles with laser beams on them. But there is such a thing as professional courtesy among super villains, okay? So he’s got to start sending me a memo or something next time he launches another missile, as they keep messing with my weekend campaigns.

2017-09-05_spoos_stop_out

If you squint carefully you can see the impact crater right on the chart where I got stopped out, with an extremely lousy North Korean fill I may add. If this keeps going on I may have to start hedging myself over the weekend via some disposable front month puts. The horror! Of course we all know the E-Mini is going to fill the gap sometime today and then happily continue upward – without me/us.

You owe me KJU!!! And I want some of those genetically engineered sharks you promised me at last year’s Villain-Con (yes it exists but you’re not invited).

2017-09-05_spoos_volume

Alright seriously now: the volume profile on the E-Mini shows us back in our favorite whipsaw zone from hell which drops off rapidly below 2460. As long as we remain above that equities are most likely going to continue pushing upward. A breach of the volume hole and a close below 2445 leads us lower, however at the current time that scenario is pretty slim (until KJU launches another missile I guess).

2017-09-05_VIX

Last Friday VIX short traders were already looking forward to single digits but those have now been postponed until further notice as it’s opened slightly below 12 in early trading. The weekly panel shows us IV spikes about every other month on average, the magnitude of which seems to be diminishing however. I’ll be sure to cover that topic in the near future.

2017-09-05_silver_update

Then again Kim’s hydrogen bomb test produced a pretty nice gap higher on our silver campaign, which is the sole reason I haven’t already spilled the secret location of KJU’s intercontinental missile program to my contacts at the Pentagon. Don’t tempt me, Kim – there is a juicy reward after all and I have got a business to run. Anyway I’ll be moving my trail to slightly below the gap which ought to keep me in the game for now. My main concern at this point however is that upper 100-day Bollinger near 18.1 which is still pointing down and thus may produce a bit of resistance.

Otherwise there isn’t really much to report at the current time. If things remain quiet today I’ll probably put together an update on the momo front tomorrow. Until then!

are they laughing at Mole’s modest little villa, did intelligence tell them it was a castle?

  • Jay Thomas

So one of your lairs (super villains always have several, at least one of which is at the north pole) is in a quiet village just outside of Vladivostok. Hmm, I’ll remember that for later leverage.

  • ridingwaves

it seems to be following a plan, sitting below the 200sma also..
factory orders sucked this AM….,odds are the dollar is a better short than long….
the NFP friday will be telling for ole bucky

I’ve been wondering what life in the Russian Far East would be like, besides extremely cold. Probably not any better with a nuclear war and/or approaching cooling climate.

  • StockTalker

    September is here, remember?

  • Mark Shinnick

Plunging $ would be bad for DeepState IMHO, and does seem to mark the unwinding of QE.

  • ridingwaves

damn millennials…they even got AMEX to change how you pay…..bubble bubble, bubble of trouble please don’t fall and turn my finances to ruble…

  • ridingwaves

    2460 easy target

  • ridingwaves

dollar down is not a bad thing for equities, should push commodities north and indexes with it…strong dollar was causing shortages across the globe thus sell it off to free up ole bucky….China loves it since Renminbi is tied $, exports take off

  • http://gerb-reloaded.blogspot.com/ Gold_Gerb
  • Mark Shinnick

I hope not, based on his initial arguments it would need to be much lower to avoid the volatility.

  • Mary

I don’t think so. I marked the TQQQ chart when he posted at 107.25. He’s still up about 6.00.

  • Mary

Based on Mole’s recent QQQ stats, he might be a month early …

  • Mark Shinnick

So fascinating…does BTFD rally fail at vol hole?

  • Øyvind Nyhammer

No I am not stopped out, entry price was 106.40 by the way.
Very often the day after a long weekend will reverse some of the move before the weekend.
Lets hope it stops at 5900. If NDX cuts trough 5880 like butter at end of day I may bail out actually, although I had set 5780 as my bail out point.

Now I feel a lot better about being stopped out of ES on the gap down.

so is the VIX (buy equities) signal dead?

It’s only been a few days, but this is feeling like 2010 or 2011. Volatility!

IMHO, if copper dead cat bounce, gets below 3.12
    a red close for equities.

  • ridingwaves

T Bill auction didn’t turn out so good, led into the deeper down move….

Moles stats mentioned this week will be rough and with Fed meeting, debt ceiling, NK etc.. it favors down I believe per those stats..
short week with more auctions on Thursday….I’m playing any push north tomorrow into short on Thursday with auctions removing some bullish liquidity….

  • Mark Shinnick

Again, history favors your position if the Matrix stays glued together.

heck there 5 miles from my house….I downloaded and will play with it over the week. The huge issue with new browsers is the lack of SaaS products that are engineered for that brand, it took a while for Chrome to be included in product engineering….

  • http://evilspeculator.com Sir Mole III

Hey guys – I’m working on the momo update – sorry for the delay but I got bogged down with my charting project (which you’ll get to alpha test soon).

  • http://evilspeculator.com Sir Mole III

I got that. For my personal use it seems to be working perfectly. TIP: don’t import all your Chrome/Safari/whatever bookmarks as those are a bit slow on Brave.

    Nice trap this AM:)

  • ridingwaves

my plan mentioned below is playing out

  • StockTalker

Yes sir, if 5900 on the /NQ breaks again we should see some collateral damage.

  • Mark Shinnick

Miners are just beginning to press out of their contracted range noise since 2015. Breakout is becoming credible.

  • ridingwaves

The 3rd time was no charm on CYTR, stopped out a while ago at .51….
I like GORO, it too is still coiling…..

  • Brishort

Fully agree on Brave!!!! I have been using it for a while on mobile. It is really Chrome without the ads. It is Chromium based therefore the similarities makes it an easy switch.
