Slow Friday Morning Briefing

by The MoleJuly 19, 2013

Welcome to our morning briefing. Here we are reviewing short term setups ahead of the NYSE opening bell. If you are a scalper or swing trader then these setups may be of interest to you. As usual keep in mind that these are short term setups although they could be used as early entries for more longer term positions.

Not seeing much of interest on the setup front this morning. It’s summer after all and the weekend is almost upon us – so let’s take care of business and then head for the nearest beach (or lake if you live inland) 😉

Copper is my favorite setup at the moment – great reversal from the lower BB and it’s now attempting to overcome an hourly NLBL, which in my not so humble opinion should determine the rest of the session. Good setup.

If you caught yesterday’s post then you know the overall outlook remains to be bullish (much to my chagrin as I earn in Dollars and spend in Euros). At the moment however it’s trying to figure out what comes next as there’s a weekly NLBL in the way. The chart above shows us the hourly picture which reveals us a pretty solid 100-hour SMA and a tightly compressed Bollinger. I suggest you keep watching this chart for signs of a break out as what comes next may be big (and fast).

It’s not too late – learn how to consistently bank coin without news, drama, and all the misinformation. If you are interested in becoming a subscriber then don’t waste time and sign up here. Hey Mole. So was yesterday’s SPX action the LKGB you suggested it might be?

Zero seems to think so at the mo.

  • Ronebadger

    Looks like it’s still kissing

  • molecool

Nah mate – that was at 1672 on an hourly chart and then we busted higher during the day. Right now I don’t see a valid setup on the SPX – yet…

  • Bun Dance Kid

OK. Cool. Thanks. I need to study harder!

  • Bun Dance Kid

…but watching to see which side we close of that weekly NLBL you mentioned, which looks to be just below yesterday’s close by my ragged reckoning

  • DarthTrader

    Yep Fishin day again . . .

  • Darth_Gerb

I propose fish day alerts. 😉

  • ridingwaves

  • SS_JJ

HL kinda looks like its ready to take off:

  • Darth_Gerb

full STO needs to point up.

  • AcoBrasil

I dumped my $RUT short in PM trading for a small profit. I’ve seen this movie too many times.

That $VIX spread needs to tighten up for shorts to gain any traction IMO.

  • ridingwaves

very tough to short over earnings season, they seem to protect the index’s good or bad and earnings are not good overall…
take a gander at MSTX, volume is high, somethings up…sickle cell phase 3, fda fast track might be in cards as it’s only drug doing something to combat it…I’m…

  • AcoBrasil

    I will.

I took a ride on OIBR this week. Sold on the spike today.

  • ridingwaves

I was in OXGN and sold out last week for small loss when it was stale, 50% up move today…figures..

watching BCRX movement on china bird flu mutation news and china buying up their flu medicine…lots of momo last 2 position, hoping for pullback

  • AcoBrasil

BCRX should pullback with that high volume price spike.
