Evil Speculator launched in 2008 as a war journal for traders. Not a blog. Not a newsletter. A front-line dispatch from someone actually in the trenches, with skin in the game and no time for fluff.
Over 5,700 posts later (as of summer 2025), we’re still here — in a very different market, with a very different game. One that’s faster, more automated, and flooded with retail noise. So we evolved.

This is where the edge lives. Red Pill Quants is our private research and trading hub — built for serious traders who want systematic income, not slot machine thrills. QuantBoys is our media arm — a loud, sarcastic, visually-driven content brand designed to punch through the algorithm sludge. It’s where we call out the absurdity of modern finance culture while seeding real trading ideas into the minds of those ready to level up.
You’ll see our avatar Quantboy Quinn delivering savage truth bombs across TikTok, Instagram, and X — all wrapped in synthwave visuals and dripping with cynicism. We use entertainment to educate, mock the unprepared, and attract the next generation of traders into our orbit.
Evil Speculator
This site remains the foundation, the nexus of our trading community. Our most fervent supporters have been pitching their tent here for over 16 years. It contains a vault of ideas, articles, tutorials, and trading commentary that traces our journey through multiple regimes — from the GFC to the meme stock and now the insanities of the crypto era.
We keep it running because first up it’s a labor of love, our origin story, and because in this ephemeral world history matters… and because some of you crusty maniacs still read blogs (looking at you GoldGerb!). Keep coming and I’ll keep dishing out the goods.
