And Now For Something Completely Different

And Now For Something Completely Different

We need a comment cleaner and since I don’t have any charts tonight here’s a little treat for you rats. Play this clip while you read on:

It’s good to know that there are some people out there born with true talent – just listening to this beat opens up my synapses to endless possibilities. I wish I could bring this level of talent and creativity to my own passion – which of course trading. My only means of expression are simple charts and a daily stream of mental masturbation – in the end all I have to offer are a set of possibilities which I then somehow attempt to transpose into monetary profits through a series of activities bound by a set of rules we all (well – most of us) adhere to. We call that ‘trading’.

It’s not so much about predicting the future – none of us are capable of doing that. Rather, it’s about interweaving ourselves with the fractal nature of the human experiment we call the financial markets. Which in turn are defined and expressed by the entire gamut of human emotions and motivations. Thus in a way, the markets are an expression of ourselves, and a reflection of what we define as progress and cumulative wealth – money.

If we are in sync with what was then we can grasp a shimmer of what lies ahead of us – unfortunately the majority of us is only capable of seeing what we want to see – and not what actually is.

So, with that mindset – looking at this chart – what do you see? Do you see success – potential – growth? A future for us all? If this was a seismograph in your area and this was what it was drawing right now – would you feel safe? What do you think the rest of that graph would paint? If it was the path of a bouncing ball – where do you think it would go next?

I’m not going to anchor you in any answers – it’s a thought experiment to break you out of your current paradigm of how you look at things around you. Life is short – don’t let your environment and your upbringing define all of your mental wiring – it’s fun to sometimes forget all you know for a few moments and look at things from a completely different perspective. It’s also called ‘out of the box thinking’.

Good night!
