Casual Friday
Casual Friday
Having sufficiently confused you yesterday, I decided to kick up my feet and call it Casual Friday. Thus far the Fed and ECB reports have been complete non-events with markets barely budging. Which honestly is a good thing as we all need to detach ourselves from the crack pipe of easy money that’s been fueling equity markets since the Bernanke days. We actually now have a real economy again, thank you very much!
Honestly, there’s not much to be said as the tape is working itself out. I just grabbed a 0.3% long position with a stop < ES 2845. Let’s see if we can get acceleration into the close, but if there’s no mojo until the EOS I may end up pulling it.
And since we’re talking lottery tickets, I’m also taking out a 0.3% long in ZB with a conservative stop < 144’20. The short term panel looks like it may try to make a run for it – but admittedly bonds are a rough market right now. So small position sizing and a wide stop. If it churns its way higher I’ll convert it into a more long term campaign and thus manage it this way.
The Dollar looks rather droopy and may paint another leg lower. I don’t like it but that’s life, so I’ll toughen up and keep ignoring that damn ATM laughing in my face whilst converting precious U.S. Dollars into over valued strangely colored unevenly sized Europoly money.
I mean who wants to pay for anything with ugly uneven banknotes that have bridges or maps on it? Hey, I know – because they want you to spend it as quickly as possible to keep the economy going. Well you’ve got to at least respect the deviousness of their little schemes. Look – serious money should be green with famous dead people on it. And for crying out loud – cut them all to one size or I’m forced to carry several wallets around. Seriously – even monopoly money is cut to size. Because it was invented by an American!
Anyway, that’s it for me. I’m heading to the gym to sculpt that luxury adonis like body the great Maker felt befitting to bestow on me. I would be calling it God’s gift to women but hey, why be modest? Alright, see you all Monday morning – bright eyed and bushy tailed as usual!
