Lazy Thursday Morning Briefing
Welcome to our morning briefing. Here we are reviewing short term setups ahead of the NYSE opening bell. If you are a scalper or swing trader then these setups may be of interest to you. As usual keep in mind that these are short term setups although they could be used as early entries for more longer term positions.
Not too much going on this morning. Equity futures have been pushing sideways overnight and we’re starting to see a bit of short term Bollinger compression. Interesting but I don’t see a good setup on the spoos right now.
The Dow futures however may be worth a play – we have a teeny bit more context here courtesy of a NLSL which is lining up with the 25-hour SMA. I’m long with a stop below the lower BB – if it breaches I would consider a short if it’s not the result of a quick event swing.
GBP/CAD is looking pretty juicy here as it’s pinned between the 25-hour and a NLBL right above it. However there’s this:
This will probably be good for a bit of whipsaw, so it’s probably wise to stay out of this one until after 8:30am EDT. The NLBL will have expired by then but I think trading the SMA higher is a good play if it holds.
Alright, see you guys later this afternoon – have fun but keep it frosty.
